Daniel Friend, Chief of Staff
Daniel joins our team with experience from The Texan, where he served as both a reporter and as marketing and media manager. A graduate of Azusa Pacific University, Daniel earned his Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Science and Humanities and completed his studies with an internship in the Washington, D.C. office of former Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK).
Victoria Engman, Legislative Director
Victoria brings valuable legislative expertise, having previously served in the office of Rep. Giovanni Capriglione (R-Southlake) as deputy legislative director and in multiple roles, including assistant clerk for the House Committee on Pensions, Investments, and Financial Services, and deputy caucus director for the Innovation & Technology Caucus. A Baylor University graduate, Victoria began her career in public service working for former Rep. James White (R-Hillister).
Jack Short, District Director
Jack has been dedicated to serving House District 6, previously working as district director for Rep. Matt Schaefer (R-Tyler). We’re fortunate to have Jack continue in this role, ensuring continuity and a seamless transition for our constituents.
Robert Bennett, Legislative Assistant
A recent graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler, Robert has already shown impressive leadership in our community. As president of the Smith County Young Republicans and the UT Tyler College Republicans, he’s shown a passion for service that will serve us well in Austin. Originally from Corsicana, Robert is currently working as a recruiter at Navarro College.
